Using the map

Is there a printable/offline version of the map?

Yes! There's a PDF version which you can print out. Just click on "PDF map" in the top bar.

How do I see the whole map?

You can drag the background of the map to see more stations.

How do I hear the pronounciation of a station?

To hear the pronounciation of a station, click on the circular station symbol to pop up the information bubble. Then click the small "play" button which appears in the top right.

How do I find a station on the map?

There's a search box in the top left corner of the screen. Click and type part of the name of a station. A list of matching station names will be displayed. Choose a station to jump directly there.

Planning routes

How do I find the time/distance between two stations?

Click and hold your mouse on the first station, then drag to a second station and release the mouse. The suggested route, ticket price and a time estimate will be shown.

Why is the suggested route between stations X and Y wrong?

The routeplanner is not perfect yet, and doesnt always pick the most sensible route. Routes which involve changing lines more than once are most likely to have problems. If you have specific suggestions on a journey which you think the routeplanner doesn't work well on, please contact us.

What does changing lines at Tsim Tsa Tsui/East Tsim Tsa Tsui require an Octopus card?

This is a "virtual interchange station". Although it is necessary to pass through faregates while walking between the two stations, if using an Octopus Card, no extra fare is charged. Central/Hong Kong stations are also linked, but there are no faregates in the connecting passage.

Can I include the MTR map on my site?
